What a week.
I changed things up a bit and started early morning walks. I’ve always preferred morning workouts but it can be hard to get motivated during the long winter nights. The extended daylight hours we enjoy are certainly a boon to my workout routine.
Having great company for the walks is definitely helping too. Nothing like a little peer pressure to get you out of bed at 6am. You kind of lay there toying with the idea of cancelling, trying to rationalize whether or not they’ll thank you for not making them get up, or maybe they’ll cancel, or maybe they’re already up and then you’re just a jerk so you get up and move.
So Jax (Yes, that’s local food blogger Cooking with Jax) and I are logging between 4500 – 7000 steps before we even get to work in the morning.
There is nothing like morning light (and coffee) to help set the day right.

|Cause I needed longer legs!|

It’s these morning walks that have allowed me to reach yet another goal this week. 15,000 steps in one day. It’s been two and a half months since I first strapped this FitBit toy to my wrist and I can honestly say that I would have declared 15,000 steps impossible on that first day.
|Haven’t seen that number in a long while.|
And with that, I’m off to join a group for a 5k walk in remembrance of a wonderful mother.
